Hi! Welcome to Abigail Grillo Photography.
I’m Abigail, a Birmingham-based photographer with a love for travel and a passion for capturing all of life’s precious moments.
I was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, 10 miles outside of our nation’s capital, but with my family being from Louisiana, Oklahoma and Alabama, The University of Alabama was an easy choice when it came time to choose my next stop (Roll Tide!). Moving 14 hours from where I grew up had its challenges, but it also brought people into my life that truly made Alabama feel like home. After graduating in 2022, I just wasn’t ready to leave and now here I am, living in Birmingham as an Alabama resident and loving every minute of it!
One of my favorite things about this city is how easy it is to travel to some of my favorite places. I am always jumping in the car for a quick trip down to the gulf coast, up to Nashville, over to New Orleans, back to Tuscaloosa to watch the Tide roll, or on a plane to hit the slopes out west. When I am in town, you’ll find me trying one of our endless incredible restaurants (or going to Gianmarco’s or Chez Fonfon for the 100th time), running around Crestline’s Hidden Park with my pups, or getting crushed by my boyfriend in pickle ball.
In 2023, I officially started Abigail Grillo Photography.
To be completely honest, my leap into the professional world of photography was much more unexpected and unplanned than one would assume. Despite being the one behind the camera at every single turn my whole life, I never had one of my own, or even an idea that photography could be the passion I had been searching for. That is, until a last minute trip up to Gatlinburg in January of last year for a bachelorette trip where I met Sydney Jeter of Sydney Faith Photo. It took all of a 15 minute conversation about her journey to starting her own business to know that this was exactly what I wanted to do (thank you, Sydney!!!). One month later, she upgraded and sold me her Canon and the rest is history!
But less about me, and more about photography!

My goal is always to capture life as it unfolds, be it a family gathering, a solo portrait, or your special 'I do's. I want to provide a comfortable, genuine experience that allows you to be yourself while I capture lasting memories. I truly believe that the best photos come from just being relaxed and genuine, no fancy poses or forced smiles necessary.
